The Mining and Quarrying industries in Southern Africa and particularly in South Africa, understand the need to educate and train their people on an ongoing basis.

The MQA (Mining Qualifications Authority) which is the SETA (Sectional Education and Training Authority) for the Mining and Minerals industry in South Africa, has embraced Outcomes Based Education and is one of the more progressive SETA’s in South Africa.  After ten or so years of work, the MQA is starting to see the fruits of its labours.

Xtract Training Services (SA)(Pty) Ltd has close ties with the MQA and has been involved with its development since inception.

We provide training and skills development in line with the MQA requirements and in close cooperation with the Department of Minerals and Energy Affairs.

Xtract Training Services offers the following:

  • Provision of learning/training in the South African extractive and related industries
  • Assessment, moderation and certification of learners against registered unit standards
  • Skills Development facilitation and planning
  • Xtract Training Services - Learners in lectures
    Learners in lectures
    Generation of qualifications, Skills Programmes, Unit Standards and Competencies and alignment of same

Originally concentrating on Surface Mining and Quarrying, Xtract Training Services has now extended its scope to include Rock Engineering and Strata Control .  This allows us to offer training in the Underground Hard Rock and Coal areas while continuing to offer our services to the Surface Extractive industries.
